Donor Geeks

You can donate your computer simply by dropping it off to our partner, reBOOT Canada, at 136 Geary Street - suite 110, Toronto (see map). Let the staff member that receives it know you are dropping it off for "Little Geeks" so that it is directed to us.

Drop off hours and fees
Drop off hours for computer donations are between 10AM and 4PM Monday to Friday. Please note, CRT monitors (non-flat old style screens) are subject to a $15 per monitor recycling fee on drop off. There is an over supply of these displays so we have to recycle them. To be responsible and keep them out of landfill, we use a safe reclaimation and handling process to deal with the toxic materials such as lead and mercury in the monitors. This fee offsets that cost.

What can you drop off?

We will gratefully accept any P4 desktops, laptops, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice and RAM. We will respectfully decline any other equipment as our inventory is topped up for all these other supplies. ReBoot Canada will be happy to accept anything which we can't use.

Pickup service?

Little Geeks regrets that it cannot pick up donated computers or equipment from individual donors at this time. For volume corporate donations, please see below.

Corporate donations:

If you would like to make a volume corporate donation of systems and equipment (5+ systems), Little Geeks can arrange pick up at your premises in the Toronto area for $100 if you are in the 416 calling area. Fee is $150 in the 905 calling area in the Greater Toronto Area.

Little Geeks also offers a fee-based service to destroy hard drive data on your premises, starting at $250. We include certification for data destruction. Applicable fees may be eligible for a tax deductible fee.

Recycling fees

Some equipment will be subject to a recycling fee, when you drop it off. This pays for safe disposal and keeps any waste stream out of landfills. We use an environmentally sound process to reclaim mercury, lead and other toxic chemicals from equipment and dispose of it responsibly. Fees below:

  • $5 - computers, P3 or under, all-in-ones, printers, scanners & fax machines
  • $15 - cathode-ray tube (CRT) monitors
  • $30 - TVs, large printers & copiers

There is no charge for the donation of P4 computers, LCD monitors, keyboards and mice.

Tax receipts

Some donated equipment that has residual value may be eligible for a tax receipt.
